Yass Valley Cat Rescue is a dedicated, volunteer-run, community-driven not-for-profit organisation committed to the rescue, care, and rehoming of cats and kittens across the Yass Valley region.
Our mission is simple: to give every cat the chance to live a healthy life in a safe, loving, and permanent home.
We work with vulnerable, stray, abandoned, and surrendered cats and kittens - ensuring each one receives essential medical treatment, is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and lovingly socialised before being matched with their forever family.
Our work is powered by volunteers, supported by local veterinary clinics, and guided by a commitment to transparency, compassion, and ethical care. We believe in responsible pet ownership and aim to educate the community on feline welfare and population management.
As a not-for-profit, we operate with integrity and fairness in all that we do - upholding inclusive, respectful practices for everyone involved in our organisation. We’re proud to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our volunteers, adopters, and supporters.

At Yass Valley Cat Rescue, we’re committed to promoting responsible pet ownership through community education, outreach, and strong partnerships with local veterinarians, councils, and animal welfare organisations.
By supporting desexing programs and raising awareness about proper animal care, we’re working to reduce the number of stray, neglected, and abandoned cats in our region - creating long-term, sustainable change.
Our goal is to break the cycle of overpopulation, abandonment, and neglect. We believe education is key: by equipping current and future pet owners with the knowledge and resources they need, we’re helping to build a more compassionate, informed community - one where every cat is valued, cared for, and given the chance to thrive in a loving home.
